Centre for Environmental Sciences (CES) is an independent, non-profit, autonomous, policy, research and implementation institute funded by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy(GO/MNRE-2569/CES/1999), Govt.of India working on sustainable development at national and global levels. CES addresses sustainable development through four interactive themes (a)environment development integration, (b) good govemance and people's participation, (c)poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods and (d) economic growth and public private partnership,. It was established in 1968, and over the year has grown to become a leading institute in the non-government sector in South Asia.
 

Recent CES Events

International Workshop on Climate Change

A five days international workshop on "Climate Change" was held in Chennai during 24-28 February 2014, at The Radisson Hotel. It will consist of two days of field vists to community based adaptation intiatives, flowed by three days of interactive discussions on various adaption issues in Chennai. The Centre for Environmental Sciences (CES), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and the RING alliance of policy research organizations are jointly organizing this workshop.

Regional Workshop on Carbon Finance Market Development

A two half-day regional workshop on "Carbon Financing Maker Development" was held in Chaka during 9-10 August, at the Park Hotel. This workshop organized by the World Bank, Washington, USA, and Development of Environment (DOE), the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) Facilitate by Centre for Energy Studies (CES).
